“JR HUNTER” , a 2-time World Champion, is a natural moving English Stallion. He is known for his elegant sweepy trot, and a soft, fluid, deep hocked canter. His movement in the show ring, as well as his color, coat pattern, and elegant head and neck, are eye catching to all. “JR” is the son of Hall of Fame Stallion, “The Hunter”, and by “Rockability”, the producer of Multiple World Champions. His good mind and easy going disposition, color, conformation and movement, are only a few of his outstanding traits he is passing on to his foals.

Due to limited showing, it was not until 2006, under the guidance and training of Mike and Cindy Mergaert, “JR” achieved an impressive show career in Senior Hunter Under Saddle and Hunter In Hand. At the 2006 Nationals, “JR” placed 6 th in Senior Hunter Under Saddle and 3 rd in Hunter In Hand. He then went on to win the World in Hunter In Hand with Ray Burchett, placing 1 st under all 5 Judges. Finishing 2006, “JR” earned High Point in the Nation in both Hunter in Hand and Senior Hunter Under Saddle. He also received his Superior Event Award in both divisions. No other Appaloosa Stallion has ever achieved all these accomplishments in the same year. What is most impressive is he did all of this his first year on the road. In the saddle, “JR” dominated the Show Circuit at an incredible 90+ percent win ratio.

In 2007, “JR” continued to dominate his classes, winning the World in Hunter In Hand for the second year in a row, as well as finishing out the year earning High Point in the Nation in Senior Hunter Under Saddle and Reserve High Point in Hunter in Hand.

Due to his show career his book has been limited to the public. We are proud to announce his book is now open to all. His first foal crop is now on the ground and under saddle. Watch for “JR's Dreamin Hunter” at the World Show in Hunter In Hand Mares with Mike Mergaert and 2-year old Hunter Under Saddle with Cindy Mergaert. Also be on the lookout for “JR's Diamond Hunter” and “JR's Royal Hunter” in Non-Pro Under Saddle classes, Hunter In Hand, and Color. We are proud of these outstanding foals which have shown exceptional qualities in the show ring. Watch out western pleasure horses, “JR's Zippin Hunter” will be making her debut in 3-year old western pleasure in 2009!
